Half a year has gone by since my miracle!

Hey guys,

By golly I can not believe it has been half a year since Christmas and the day I gave birth to our little miracle Evie!!! Things are sure changing fast around here.

Evie is now eating solids! We have so far had carrots, peas, sweet potatoes, rice and oat cereals and apples. Tomorrow we start something new once again. In our house we are using the 3 day rule. My soon to be sister in law Jen had told me that her pediatrician had said after 3 days that if they have no allergic symptoms that you are usually in the clear to start something new.

Today we had Evie's 6 month appointment at the doctors. She now weights a whopping 15.5 pounds and is 4 cm's longer than she was before. She is still in the lower percentile...but the doctor never mentioned anything to us about it..Doug just happened to see that it said that I her Mac computer screen where she types everything up. It was actually a pretty good visit..she answered our questions..gave us advice about Certain things and told us Evie looks healthy and happy!!! Evie was such a big girl..she did not even cry when she had her needle this time..she just had a delayed reaction kind of a small whimper you know after the needle was already out and put away. I was surprised on how well she did behave considering her appointment was during her nap time.

We asked the doctor about Homo milk..due to if Doug and I do start to try again I will not be breastfeeding any longer at that point. Anything that I would need to take would go into my milk and that would be very bad. She does not want us to at least until after she is 9 months old. Has to do a lot with Omega 3..iron levels and digesting it properly. All doctors and studies right now do not want ppl stopping until after a year for many reasons. If we do switch one of the things she told us was there is one homo milk called "dairy-oh" by Neilson that we can buy that has omega 3 in it..or try to give her fatty fish with omega3 in it 2 times a week. I do not eat fish so we will see how that goes over...lol.

After the appointment we re-booked Evie to see her against 9 months and I will going next week to see what my blood results are for hormone levels and such. Doug and I would like to see where we are at. We might start trying again in the fall considering how long it took to get our first miracle. Also we might have to go back to the specialist.

Well there is the latest..will post pics and such soon...just be excited that I am posting only 2 days after she is 6 months...that is fast and on time for this momma..xo

5 Month Post

Well here we are again..late on writing the blog again..I am telling you that I should just expect to not get it done when I want to in the first place and it would be a lot easier on myself. I did not even get to take Evie's Bumbo shot until this past Friday at my moms while were visiting and she is already 5 1/2 months old.

Lots of things are changing daily. We started to give Evie some Rice cereal at 5 months...but stopped due to that she did the first 3 days with no problem..but after I started making the full amount of the Gerber/nestle kind she would start arching her back in the highchair..crying and screaming. I really was not sure if it was hurting her tummy or that she was just not ready. It was very hard to understand for she was opening her mouth and doing the mimic taste/chew with her mouth. So I waited a week and decided to try the Milupa Rice Cereal. It has been a complete difference in eating..whether it be the waiting till she was 5 1/2months or the difference in how it is made.

Tomorrow I am starting Oat Cereal with her...hoping we do not have any problems. I have also picked up some cereals to try a little later while they are on sale and some jars of veggies. I want to see how she is with them before I start making a whole batch of things myself.

Evie is smiling and giggling at everything from the Dog playing with a ball...to funny faces or just different objects. Evie will roll from her tummy to her back..but not her back to tummy..however she did do that once when no one was looking. Doug went up to check on her one time and there she was screaming and crying to the side and into the mattress. We have a whole head of hair except for one spot on the back of her head that is constantly being rubbed off from where she turns her head while playing and sleeping.

Standing and sitting up is a favorite. We love to arch our back and turn around in circles in her floor play mat. All the giggles make up for the tantrums of screaming when we are crying just for the sake of well crying. Nap times are even going better. However we learned that we go to bed easier and more quickly after being breastfed at the 6:30pm time slot. We were pumping for then and seeing if we could save some time around dinner time. However it took her just as long to finish if it not longer and then fought naptime with all of her might..so back to breastfeeding then again. Hopefully when I switch to just pumping she gets that out of her system fast.

We are going through clothes just as fast as we are growing. I am constantly boxing things up! Evie and I just spent the last week with my parents and had lots of cuddles from Yaya and Grampa Dave. In two weeks she will be 6months old. Holy Cow is time just flying past us. I will try to update on time...since she will have a doctors app 2 days after and I will definitely have news to update you on.

Here are some newer photos for you all. Much love Cassie, Doug and Evie
