Miss E is 23 Months old!

Hard to believe that in less than a month now we will be the proud parents of a two year old girl!!!! The fun already has started with the tantrums, meltdowns, special moments, new experiences and growth each day. Each and every day we are thankful..tired..but very thankful!

Lately I am doing long hug holds..and by hug holds I mean sometimes that is what it takes for Miss E to calm down from a tantrum in which she forgot she was mad or frustrated about..but still is going like the Tasmanian Devil. You know all animated like looney toon's...with all the drool, tears, screaming and misunderstanding of the issue due to lack of words.  I also mean hug holds..by not letting go when hugging until she does..because you never actually know how long they needed a hug for. There is a saying that goes something like be the last one to let go..for you never know how long a  child actually needed the comfort that only a hug can bring. This momma loves hugs so that is just great with me!

We are the pickiest eater as of right now. We were the greatest veggie eater before..and now we are lucky if she eats any veggie other than Potatoes in any form, peas, broccoli and the occasional Zucchini/blueberry muffins I make her. The only meat she will currently eat are hot dogs, chicken nuggets and sometimes really soft steak. We used to be able to trick her and do anything ground...but that has since changed..unless the meat is in certain things. She loves berries and yogurt, cottage cheese, apple sauce....fruit you name it! If you ever ask E what she wants for snack..she will hold her mouth like Jean Cretian( missed spelling) mouth crooked and make the FFFFF sound for Fishies.

Dancing Machine!!!! My little girl is a dancing machine..and she loves to sing and hum now. Very entertaining..music or non..we are grooving. Also if you have something she can make dance..that will happen to. Infact just recently I have witnessed little people horse and cows dance, her baby dolls, elmo...felt ornaments and clothes. Loads of fun!

I love the age where they love to help. This past weekend...E helped us put Christmas Ornaments on the Tree...and she also helped me make cookies by dumping all the measured out ingredients into the bowl and stirring them together. We will help pick up toys most of the time. She loves to do things to help O..and shares with him on a regular basis...even if he can not play with those toys or eat cheerios.

Almost 2 year olds are parrots..which is great for learning. I sometimes wish she would just come out with full sentences....which I know may come to bite me later on...but sometimes I think it would be easier to calm her down etc if she could actually tell us what happened or is wrong/frustrating. Until then...we will keep helping her learn and hugging her closely.

Some fun pictures to come shortly..xoxo

O's 4 month Post!

Oh November...where I now have a 4 month old baby boy and a just over a month before my daughter turns 2!!!!

This past Saturday O turned 4 months old. Today we went for his 4 month check up. He is now a little less than we thought we had him weighed in at...but not all scales convert ounces right. Mr. O now weighs 16 lbs 2 oz not the 17lbs we thought he was originally from our home scale. He is getting super tall in height. He is now 24.6 inches in length. According to the super silly percentages they have based on who knows what in comparison he is considered short..I beg to differ..we have him in some 3-6, 6 month and 6-9 month onsies.

O has found his voice!!!! He is talking to everyone all the time. He watches us walk across the room. He loves to watch his busy big sister who flys in and out of his sight constantly and try and get her attention. I can just see it now..E loves to kiss and hug O..well soon he is going to be right in her face and pulling her hair very shortly.

We are drool city lately. If you do not know about Baltic Amber Teething Necklaces..do some research..I swear by them. The lovely people of GLOW..in Peterborough sell them. After using them on both children we would not have it any other way.

I have to say O is much more smiley when I come into his room to get him and pick him up to bring him downstairs than our daughter ever was. He kicks his arms and his face lights up and almost a giggle comes out. We are squealing, cooing and chatting to his toys in the floor mat.

We have been feeding him 6 6oz bottles a day. We were adding a tsp of rice cereal into his morning bottles so he would make it 3 hrs in between feeds. It was working our really well until the other day when for some reason O did not poop for 2 1/2 days. Poor little guy was having trouble with gas...not pooping and was not drinking due to being backed up.

O is doing really well holding his head up. When we put him on the floor he looks like is carpet swimming or ready to be on the move. I am now starting to see why the doctor told us we will have to put on our running shoes for him.

I was really impressed on how my boy did with all the shots and oral vaccinations today. Today he got two needle and one oral vaccination.

Soon if he is still not making the 3 hours consistently We will be starting baby cereal sooner than later. My sweet little babe is growing so fast!Write again soon!
