Here Ye Here Ye,
Master K is 4 months old..well 4 1/2 months old..we just had our 4 month appointment at the doctors today. He is now weighing a whopping 13lbs 14oz. He is now 23.4 inches in height.
Each child grows in their own way. Changes are occurring daily always at a different time than the others and with each new blessing in our lives (aka our children) we are amazed and grateful. This past month K started to roll to his side while playing. He is also trying to sit up in the swing while its running and has amazing head control.
K's laughter and smiles are contagious. We are constantly stopped by older ppl when out and about. He giggles when tickled..talks his sweet baby babble with his toys and loves to repeat sounds and faces while playing or talking with his siblings. Alertness is Key with K. He will follow us around the room not only with his eyes but also with his head turning in the direction we walked in.
Another thing we started to do just recently was give K some solids. He is now getting 2 oz daily. 1 oz of Baby rice cereal and 1 oz of apple sauce. The doctor reminded us about the guidelines today...babahahaha. We are a little bad ass like that..getting the food talk on our 3rd child...rebels without a cause. I informed her that K is doing very well and eats it rather well. He has been pooping more consistently since we have started feeding him more than just breastmilk. He is on 6-7 5 oz bottles a day and started to wake up randomly at 4am...also not quite making the 3 hr spans. So we thought we would try to see if we could curve the hunger. I was reminded of empty calories..over all our doctor knows we will continue on the solids train. After all O turned out great!
You never worry so much about Poop until you have children. K went almost 3-4 weeks without pooping. We were not concerned due to he was still eating, letting gas go. His stomach was still soft and he was not seeming in pain. Our doctor likes to refer to us as laid back and was a little concerned about how long of a span he went. Needless to say we were told to bring him in if it happens longer than a week next time.
Over all as long as you are well loved, healthy and happy..life is good when you are so wee!
Captain O:
Where do I begin. Life has gotten so much more exciting as O grows. He helps the dog get her food out of her bowl to eat..throwing it on the floor...closes all of the doors in the house for me like a gentlemen. Asks me if he can get a clean bum please and thank you..and helps me count when his sister is having a bathroom tantrum to tell her if he gets to 3 she is having a nap that day.
Life is never dull. O is learning new words every day. He is such a polite boy. Some days he even tells me "your welcome". We are still learning to use our words instead of hit and throw things. You know the toddler way of life.
I mean what else would I do with my time after a shower other than pick up a whole box of wipes in O's room that are mixed inside all the crib sheets and blankets and pjs from underneath his change table. My kids have to have a great imagination and sense of play. I have never heard two kids have so much fun with sheets. I also have never enjoyed using deodorant more than when it has teeth scrape marks through it first.
You have to have a sense of humor in this house. I was blow drying E's hair the other night after a later bath..and O decided that he needed me to blow cry him too. So he stands in front of me and keeps asking for more as he smiles like a dog with his head out of a car window or a herbal essence commercial. Waving his head back and forth smiling and laughing..its the little things right!
Miss E:
Where can I start..we are on early morning wake ups..I'm talking like 4:50/5am or 5:30. This mama is feeling tired..considering bedtime is 11pm after we pump and feed the babes.
We are starting over on a lot of potty training steps we already had conquered before moving. It is like she delayed the change it would have on her. Soooo now we are teaching how to do the clothing pulling up and down of the pants..and wanting to go on our own like a big girl..and not running in the other direction as well as wiping. Does anyone have any pointers for teacher children/girls how to wipe...dooooo tell. I feel this will be a long process and we start school this upcoming fall. She is still not 3 1/2 yet..but we really need to get this train moving.
We are starting to work on ABC's and Counting, differences, colours, memory etc. E is super duper smart..but I am her mama. She knows her colours and differences...is really good at memory. ABC's and Counting comes and go depending on how we are learning. Sometimes we count with play doh or lacing beads. Other days we do alphabet puzzles or use Ipad apps. I just found some curriculum work books for Preschool and Kindergarten to work on with E.
We are also on the verge of a growth spurt...I can just feel it. She is eating more foods..including vegetables...willingly..on her own. Even asks when I am cutting them up if she can have some. Plus you know how little kids get a pouch in their tummy..its there. I hope it happens soon due to 3T and some 4T pants are not sitting right to do up on her tummy. Tights and Stretchy shorts/pants it is!
If I was not up before the birds I would write more..or you could actually visit haha..just ignore the unpacked boxes..we live here and have little time to do all that jazz!
xoxo The Brants
