Today I am writing to you...announcing that I am 12 weeks 5 days pregnant.
We had our first official ultrasound and checkup today. Our appointment was supposed to be at 8:45..we walked in the same time that the secretary was coming into the building..we got to come in the door as she just turned the lights on. We did not get into the room until a little after 10am. The room was filling up quite nicely and the doctor was still nowhere insight. It is extremely ironic that we are the first app of the day and the doctor is already running late. After I was weighed and put in the room..we waited another 10 mins until the doctor arrived.
We did not really know what to expect. Sooo we were asked a bunch of regular medical questions that are protocol in the situation we are in. Then we asked him a bit of info and got to see the baby using a doppler for the very first time. We did not get to hear the hearbeat however..I am really not quite sure why...but anyways..hopefully next time. We got to see the baby...it was interesting tho..it was upside down...head at one end facing downwards and the feet at the other. We are hoping to get better pics next time.
After we got our pic and got our millions of sheets for bloodwork requisitions..we made our way to the lab downstairs. I had to get a glucose drink test done...seeing as I was on 3 metformin a day for my PCOS before I got pregnant..he wanted to take the proper precautions early on in the game..to make sure everything is alright. I handed in the sheets and did my urine sample to check and see if I have another bladder infection. I had to drink this solution that looked and tasted like that orange MacDonalds drink they used to give us as kids..but it was not fizzy at all..kinda made your throat feel all tingly. I had to sit for an hour and then get bloodwork done directly after. I had 5 viles of blood taken. My arm actually kinda hurts today after that. I asked for one of the ladies specifically since the last time I got bloodwork done I ended up coming out of there with 3 holes in my arm for one vile of blood.
We ended up leaving the alexander building after 11am..we definitely got our parking money's worth consider we were there at around 8:35am.
After that we went home to meet holly..let our fellow fb friends know and went off to get some groceries..my work schedule next week and show some ppl at work the new pic.
My next app is in 4 weeks. I will be in my 16th week..so look forward to hearing another update around July 27th. We are now starting to feel like this is more real and exciting..If I do not hear the heartbeat next time..I might be a little mad at the doctor. I will make sure to post a new pic if we get a better look at our little one and maybe even some belly pics.
So far the doctor is really happy about the size and how everything is looking..we hope to have more info next time aswell. Our journey is becoming a heartbeat closer every day!
Here is a pic of our baby to be..it is an acrobat already and being stubborn about getting its picture taken like my husband Doug!!!
If you read this blog from the very first post it will show you all the ins and outs and obstacles my husband took to conceive our world our family. It will take you through our pregnancy's and how we are doing month to month..updates on our children. Hopefully this will help others learn there is hope and other people out there with similar issues in trying to conceive.

Life's Growing Miracles
Growing our hope, love and faith...one day of a time ofcourse...
It has been quite awhile since I have written a blog entry. To tell you the truth I have been terrified to write one. I did not want to tell everyone our good news and then possibly have it taken all away. It was hard enough last year when we got pregnant last year and had it taken away from us so quickly. My last IUI was done on April 15th....my last cycle day was on April 2nd, 2011. In March my time for cycling was shortened due to low dosage aspirin. This last IUI month, I was on a new drug called Femara. It seemed to shorten things for us as well. So the weekend we were doing Doug’s 30th Bday party..I believe it was April 30th/May1st..I had some small amounts of implantation bleeding but nothing I was really thinking hard about. So just to be safe on the Tuesday I went in for some blood work to do a blood pregnancy test. I went into the doctor to let the receptionist know we needed to know the results either way. For if it was a negative result we still needed to know for different drugs to take and not to take and to set up our next IUI procedure. I also asked her to ask the doctor some questions about some things. I am taking so many things at the time I needed some clarification for times ect. She informed us that the doctor would be leaving the next day for 3 weeks out of the country. So basically if we needed the next IUI done..we had to skip that month completely.
A day or 2 later the receptionist phoned us around lunch time and let us know that we are indeed pregnant and she was very excited to let us know. She also asked the doctor the info I needed to know and booked an appointment with us to have a earlier appointment once the doctor was back to check out the pregnancy. We assumed that we would have to be seeing him a little bit more than most people considering that our case is a little different.
For the next following weeks I was going in to get blood work done for my levels. Just to make sure everything was going up properly. I am now taking my Progesterone suppositories until I am finished my 10th week. I also have to take low dosage aspirin until my 28th week is done. Our appointment was booked to see the doctor once he was back in the country. Since you know it seems to be every time we seem to have to do something important he is on holidays and such. I also had my RMT come over once a week to remain calm and relaxed in the meantime while we were waiting the weeks to see the doctor. A nice relaxing massage can go along way when you are stressed and pregnant..sore from work ect.
The week before I ended up getting a bladder infection. We sat 3 1/2 hrs in the Fast tracks clinic on a Thursday night..just to find out I was right about what I had. I was given a antibiotic that I had to take every 6 hours. I was to wake myself up at 12am every night to take a pill. I do not think that I have ever had a bladder infection before now.
We went into see the doctor when we were 7weeks 6 days..Friday May 27th. We had to wait 2 hours a bit...due to backlog from him being away so long. So I asked the receptionist whether she had any more blood work I needed to get done when I went to get my levels done again. I also had to get my urine tested again to make sure my UTI was all gone. I have never had a bladder infection before...so it was a very interesting ordeal. I went and got the blood work done..which took 3 holes in my arm due to I was dehydrated and they always have trouble with my veins. I then went back upstairs to wait with everyone else. He was so backed up when we first got there..there was a girl leaving from an appointment that was originally scheduled for 10:45am. He had been called out for an emergency c-section. We went and got some water so I made sure I could pee later for the dip test they do on your urine. After I ended up drinking all of that I went and got the cup for that earlier..due to I had to pee like every 20 mins. Drinking 3 bottles of water before waiting that long is a bad idea. But under the circumstances very much needed. I ended up peeing right before I went to be weighed...I did not want to pee on the doctor seeing as I knew he would be doing an internal ultrasound.
When we finally got in 2 hours later...we got weighed..and the doctor was very pleased with the progress. Our estimated due date is January 7th,2012. He was very happy with the size and growth and we even got to see the heartbeat with the internal ultrasound. It hurt a lot to have an internal done..I was kinda worried about the whole thing due to I have had some spotting on a off due to different reasons. The doctor answered most of our questions and does not want to see us until June 30th for our first large prenatal appointment. When we go see him at the end of this month..I will be 12 weeks 5 days. So another week after that I will starting my 2nd trimester!!!
This is such a huge accomplishment for us. We have never made it this far before. I think we will both feel better after the 3 months are done. We have been blessed with an angel. Work has known for a little bit...well mine has...more for support and to make sure I am not overdoing my lifting and such. I am guessing a lot of you had caught on awhile ago..but to be honest...we have waited this long..you can wait a month or two for the updates lol.
We saw the heartbeat..and hopefully all keeps going well..and my week 12 5days ...almost 13 we will hear the heartbeat. I will be sure to write again once I have the next appointment. As of today my posting day I am starting my 11th week. A little less worried and becoming more confident that we will be staying pregnant and that everything will be just fine..fingers crossed of course. I will be sure to post again after our 12/13 wk appointment..I might even have a picture to show you all of our ultrasound...but until then only my blog fans will know. Please no posting on fb as I do not want everyone knowing until we know everything is for sure ok. If you want to comment message me privately or comment on my blog entry. Thanks for all the support and I hope you are as excited and surprised as we are.
We got to see the heart beat...next time we get to heart it hopefully!!!
