9 month app

Yesterday Evie turned 9 months old..today we had her 9 month check up.

She now weighs 19.8lbs..we weighed her at 20lbs the other day....so give or take right lol..she is 68.5cm in height and her head is 45cm around. What I find funny is they are all under a percentile..for Evie this means she is in the 56% for weight, 23% for height and wait for it...74% for her head circumference...which she totally gets from her dad!!!

All is well for Evie..she did really good at the doctors..just played with her toys we brought..laughed and chatted away with the nurse and doctor..even waved ppl in the lobby on the way up. Our doctor was kinda surprised we started the homo already..not that she can do anything about it now..there was no way I was switching her to formula..since there was no need..Evie is doing extremely well on the homo and now she is 9 months anyway. We have her on Dairy-Oh which she is happy about..but still wants us to try and give her fish that is rich in Omega 3...I can not imagine trying to puree or mash fish and feed it to Evie...I can not eat fish myself..and can not even stomach the smell. So there is no way that is happening unless Doug is having some and she can try it then...totally grosses me out.

That all being said...the doctor was happy on how well she is doing...despite me not listening about the early giving of the homo! We still only have 2 teeth...we keep thinking another one is soon to appear but every time we check to see or feel there is nothing new to be seen. We are now trying to be very mobile..sitting up very well on our own...attempting to feed ourselves the bottle..little help here and there..unless we are super tired..in that case we like to have the extra attention. We are starting to push off of things around us or do a bridge in the air to get on all fours and wiggle our bum in the air to get momentum to try and move forward...this is all very new. We have already been scootching, sliding and turning on our tummy and back for a couple of weeks already..mostly turning and going backwards not forward. We are in definite need of baby proofing soon for our little independent girl is going to be on the move.

On another note..we also had an appointment for Momma. Since I switched her to homo..I was waiting to see if other things were going to happen naturally for me. I had not had anything happen since I had my sweet baby. So almost 2 years really. I finally got my dear friend Aunt Ruby...last Tuesday..which is good news in a sense..not so much for the disastrous pain I was in. The doctor was glad to hear that. All being said..we have now faxed my info onto Maskens..the specialist we had seen before....to start seeing him again..It took 3 years for our sweet girl to come into our lives and we have decided awhile ago that we were not going to wait very long in between children..due to we are not sure how long it will be. For all we know it could be another 3 years..hopefully not..but who knows. We need to find out what is happening, hormone levels, if I still have cysts from my PCOS..or if it has gone away for the time being.. When I had see the specialist for my 6 week app after the baby was born..he was pretty sure we could not get pregnant while breastfeeding and told us he was pretty sure that every time we wanted to try and conceive we would need assistance in some form or another.

Right now we wait to hear back to get an initial app with him again. Thank goodness our names have been in his files in the past year..so hopefully we do not have to long of wait seeing as we were a more recent of a patient. He is on holidays until the end of September...so who knows..by the time Evie is 1 years old..we could expecting baby number 2...or on our way to figuring out how to get on our way there. We are to call if we do not hear from them in two weeks...here goes nothing. I know if we do get pregnant again..Doug wishes it is a boy this time lol. We would be happy being blessed with either. We love our family so much and are so blessed to be given a gift from God already. Evie needs someone else to play with eventually right..the dogs tail keeps getting shorter..

I believe that is all for now..I will leave you with a few photos. Much Love from us all here xo.

Say hello to my little 8 month old friend!

Another month is past again already...I would have wrote our blog post a little sooner. If we were not traveling, packing/unpacking, visiting ect lately. In fact I am writing this right now on our way home from our vacation in Nova Scotia.

Evie is now 8 months and boy oh boy do we have a lot to tell you. We now have 2 bottom teeth fully in. Let me tell you...they are loads of fun and I say that with large amounts of sarcasm. The first one was not nearly as bad as the second one...oh did I mention that they came in two weeks..one the first week and the other started half way though the second week and continued to come up higher and higher. Teeth send little babies tons of joy...NOT!!!!  We believe the others are trying to sneak their way up currently or will shortly follow suite.  Hopefully the next couple or the roast are not nearly as bad for Evie has been up a lot almost every it since they have started coming through..so we would like some full nights of sleep sometime soon.

We have been on homo for a while now and are doing great..we have also had blueberries, strawberries, wheat & corn cereals lentils , turkey and some other new things. We at slowly making our food chunkier and chunkier...chewing is becoming better..when we are not deciding to be silly at meals.

The next time you see Evie..if you do..say hi..she may respond back to you with a hi back. It is our first word..sometimes followed by something that sounds like ya..hi ya from Evie. We also have this new found throat laugh that vibrates from the back of her throat.  She likes to use it when she thinks things are particularly funny and will give you this goofy teethy smile and laugh. It's quite a funny site to see. We are also learning the levels of our voice box. Testing them out for all to hear and notice her..whether you know her or not.

This past week we started to imitate the Itsy Bitsy spider song with our hands. I have been singing the song with the actions for months now..finally my Aunt Beth sings it with her..and what do you know..we are trying to go up the spout with our hands and trying to clap yeah at the end!!!! My baby girl is so smart and amazes us each and every day.

When we were in Nova Scotia Evie got to meet some of my Aunts and Uncles and her great Nana . We took a picture of Evie, my mom, her mom my nana and I. She also got to meet her second cousins and went to the Ocean for the first time in her life. We walked out in the water and where the tide was out on the beach..even dipped her toes in the water. She did not like it too much..added some tears to the ocean.  This is so far the longest road trip we have done with Evie and overall she did pretty good considering.

We have also lowered Evie's crib already..she is rolling back and forth to her tummy and back again. She is trying to prop herself up on things..so now I feel like I have to drop her in and out of her crib. We even will slide ourselves across floors on our back or tummy. We use our arms and shoulders both ways.

Doug told me she is started to try and put her legs under herself now when on her tummy. I have not witnessed it myself yet...her head and legs are not up at the same time tho. We also sit up very well on our own.. And only need a little bit of help here and there.

I will be sure to post pictures shortly..I have to load them on my laptop when we get home. 8 months old..."hi ya" to all of you!
