Where did the Summer Go?

Hey Y'all

Sitting here thinking I should probably sit and write up that blog I have been forgetting about in the blur of summer ending...our crazy busy fun life we live and getting ready for E to start school in the upcoming weeks.

K is now 7 1/2 months old!!!! Where did all that time fly to? He is ready to Zoooooom around our house. Let me tell you there is a lot of ground for him to cover and a lot of trouble for him to get into on his own and with the help of his siblings.  He is now army crawling and lift/sliding across the floor. When he does not army crawl he rolls over and stretches out to reach the new objects around him in which he should not have in his hands or mouth....like crayons or paper or older toys etc.

We have moved onto mashes foods..or chunkier..which ever way you grind it up! He is doing great. We sometimes have the lovely gag reflex join in along with us at meal time..we just remind about chewing and all is good. Plus he likes to copy the mouth movements and sounds we are making at him. He is also getting Teeth in! If you were to look inside of K's mouth..you would find his top front and bottom are almost all the way through...along with a mouthful of teeth sitting at the gum line just waiting their turn.

I love the age where we are soooo sooo soooooo happy! He is honestly even happier than O was and we did not think that was humanly possible. Until K came along and proved us wrong. He is sooo loveable..ask his siblings..they maul him with kisses and hug, the occasional finger or fist..you name it. He is always smiling and copying sounds..now we are onto squealing and copying his siblings sounds. K has started to try and make others around him laugh or get attention when not in sight or right beside him.

Not a day goes by where we are bored around K. Starting to sleep better on and off...we are usually fixing but do not always have to stay in the room with him..we do not always wrap him at night either. Occasionally he will hold his own bottle and put his own soother in at nap.

O is getting Tall! He was already a toddler before but now we are the biggest word repeater. He loves to bug his sister and instigate the situation when she is playing alone. He is smart and curious and nothing can be left alone with him for long. We like to help out but also help ourselves into cookies. The other day we were playing hide and seek and O chose the shower...he chose the shower in our bathroom off our bedroom to pump my tresemme all over himself and the shower so he could do the slip and slide.

We practice hiking in our bedroom onto the great mountain change table. We are a firm ground stander in the language NO...but also loves eskimo kisses and rowing across floor oceans in boats. Milk cups are made for throwing and chicken or hot dogs is  a good answer for all meals.

O is beginning to stay in his room if we leave the door open and are not in his room or hall. We usually have to stay close to tell escapees to get back into the bed. We love walks and to dance and baths are simply the best.

Our days are always filled with roller coasters of emotion. If you ask O to help with breakfast he will help you use the toaster. We laugh and we cry, we yell and we shout, sometimes exploring and trying new things is what being 2 is all about!

Miss E is 3 and going on 4!

The summer is ending and it is clear we can see the beginning of the start of our first school Year.

The other day Daddy took E on the Bus rider program to teach her safety and her first bus ride. She got lots of info and was very proud..even if we cried there and back for mama.

We are all very excited for E and a wee bit scared. I am sure after a couple weeks or months the kinks will be worked out. Some days now we are beginning to get dressed with little help...let bathroom fights...more self wiping (BIG DEAL)! She loves the idea of school...but is very concerned about me missing her.

Soon there will come a day where she will not want or need our help in the little things we have been trying to help her with and teach her in the past 3/4 years. I think that makes me a little sad..normal mom feeling..proud but a little sad. She will need me in other ways and is showing me already. We are a very drama filled gal.

She is growing each day into a strong willed but amazing little girl. Taller and stronger and smarter. She loves to tell me stories...sometimes we now are white lying but not understanding we are sneaking or lying..mostly about stickers in her room..small world problem lol.

We are constantly reminding of sharing and turn taking which will be all sorted out in school. She loves to help her little brothers..sometimes too much. The one day she helped me dry the dishes..then she told me she was done and it was my turn..too bad it was not the turn taking we were teaching.

Our days are loud and messy. Our house rarely stays clean. Sometime we are all crying or laughing..but its all in good fun. This is our crazy wonderful life and we would never change it. Embrace the little laughs and cuddles. Join in the dance or row across the Brant floor Ocean. I kiss boo boo's to mend broken hearts and Sing Beatles songs to my 2 year old to get him to drink his milk.
We may not get out much, but we go on a new adventure of imagination and life every single breath taking day!
