Mr.O is 3 Months Old

Crrrrrraaaaziness is all I can say!

I really can not believe that my baby boy is 3 months old already. Considering he was 3 weeks early time has flew by ever so quickly. He is an amazing wee lad let me tell you. He is growing faster than Doug and my eyes can keep up.

O has amazing head control. Most of the time he is lifting it up while being held and looking around the room at different interesting objects. Especially fans we all know how babies love fans. He is beginning to really love doing tummy time longer and playing in his floor mat. He talks and smiles away kicking his feet and swims with his arms. I would tell you how much he weighs..but we honestly have not had time to weigh him let alone myself. We are busy busy. All I can tell you is that he is out of all of is 0-3..some 3 month things are too small already and have put away some 3-6 month stuff or they fit! He has a really long torso like his daddy and sister. I am always buying bigger tops and smaller pants.

I am lucky if I get 30 sec of quiet where they are both sleeping or not awake at the same time. Right now I am taking advantage of being the only one in the house not sick again and just got the sweet babe down while my Rae of sunshine and snot lol..is supposed to be sleeping in her room. I heard her cry once already..but hope it was in her sleep as she has been up a lot this week due to our new family passed on cold and teething.By teething I mean E and O! Yes you heard me..he has started the constant drool fest already...and we just put his Amber teething necklace on a couple days before..smooth moves.

Remind me to thank my in laws for this one. I feel as if I had just got the sickness out of our house and we go down to visit for thanksgiving and everyone is out for the count again..poor guy does not have a fighting chance..his sister kisses him to death. Doug who never gets sick has it again as well. Oh and my twin Nephews!!!! I am one pissed off mama about ppl not using their brains when their kids are sick and letting others know. I am pretty sure my kids can pick up their own sicknesses without help...blah Rant Done!

O loves his sister. She will bend down and talking to him when he is in his swing or floor play thing and he will talk back and smile and try to touch her face (due to how close she is). He even licks E when she kisses him..which is a lot. Funny to see happen. It is a really neat thing to see them interact with each other more and more each day.

Most days we are making it till the next feeding time. Right now he is definitely off due to the constant sickness. I feel that it has been a month. If you have a wee baby with  a cold I swear by Nose Freida...not all those other crappy nasal aspirators that do not work and hurt. It is something when you look it up will think it is gross..but it is worth the price and does not hurt and helps my wee babies breath when they can not blow their noses.

O is drinking 5 oz 6-7 times a day. Most nights he sleeps anytime after he eats from 9:30/10 until 6/7 in the morning..the past 3 days we have been waking up to add a feed in..due to a growth spurt or his sisters painful screaming from teeth or his new cold. Hoping it soon stops..Right now Doug and I are running on around 16 hr of sleep in 3 days...not good. Does not help my supply when I am that low on sleep...lucky for me I now have around 8 days frozen of milk supply..and counting..YEAH!!!!!

I know I keep saying I will post pictures..I will make it my mission to do so as long as everyone is rested and well..otherwise I will for sure not have any time. Hope you are all having a good October...we are hoping to get some pumpkin pictures soon. xo the Brants.

E's 21 Month Post

Hey Y'all!

I hope that September has been good to you. We are sure having fun right now..Both of my babies have colds..O is currently getting over a bum rash from the vaccinations he received and is super stuffy.

E is still currently teething super bad with the 4 teeth that still have not broken through the surface. We thought it was a runny nose connected to her teething which happens often. Plus she gets allergies this time of year when we go to visit the grandparents in the country. We all seem to only feel the allergies a bit in the city. It was not until she did not get any better and much worse when we got home that night. She was so congested when we tried to give her homeopathic allergy medication she worked herself up so much she threw up all over Doug, O and the couch/floor.

The last time I wrote about Miss E I was talking about how her teeth were affecting her. Well let me tell you...E ended up not only having a teething rash but a nasty Yeast Infection! I went to go and get her cream from rexall and should have trusted my gut..but the pharmacist was a dork and said I should go get her checked out first. So off we go to make a appointment..get her into the night clinic at our doctors and they give us a prescription for the same cream I was going to buy in the first place. A week or two of applying a no name anti-fungal cream and it cleared up nicely. I never would have thought a foot cream for athletes foot and jock itch would be used for a yeast infection and be similar ingredients to Conestan.

E is testing boundaries leaps and bounds. Seeing how far she can get with things. Eating/feeding her is loads of fun. Right now it is touch and go what she will eat feeling sick and with her teeth. When she has had enough or decides she is all done she starts to make a mess and turns it into art of throws it all over the place.

She has been hopping all of the house like a frog. Saying "Hop Hop". Repeating new words as she hears them. Today she told me she tooted and pointed to her bum after mumbling something and then told me she stinks by plugging her nose. It was quite funny. Since we have come home from visiting all of her cousins she is jabbering about tons.

E will climb up onto the table chairs all by herself and now does the stairs for the most part hanging onto the railing with one hand..standing up straight instead of half crawling up. The one night she got out of her bed and when we went to go tuck her in..Doug found her asleep on the carpet in front of her book area asleep. It is funny E fits into 18-24 pants sometimes even 12-18. Her upper half is built like dad in the sense it is tall/long.

We are clumsy lately! Fell 3 times last week where she actually hurt herself. Hit and loosened the one tooth..I think it is connected to her teeth and cold. Also we are becoming very helpful. E even wants to help hold my pump pieces on for me and o's bottle in. Only if she would clean up when we asked her lol.

Off to pump I go! Pics to come shortly.

O's Two Month Apt

Hope you all are enjoying the beginning of school season and Fall because it has definitely arrived..and quickly. This week is a big week for Mr. O..he just turned 2 months old this past Monday evening and today was his 2 month apt..you know the one where they give two needles and a oral vaccination.

Lots of new things with O! This week he has started talking (cooing etc) and smiling tons..which is a nice change from all the non stop crying that was going on. I know it is completely normal and to be expected but when your two children are feeding off of each other it can be a lot after awhile. The other day I had him the floor play activity mat and he was swaying the elephant and telling him stories..happy stories. It was great to see..makes you feel like you are doing things right.

O now weighs 12 lbs 10 ounces!!! The doctor called him chubby but healthy. It is probably due to the amount he is eating since we stopped breast feeding last week and started pumping instead! O is now eating 5 oz each feed in a bottle of pumped breast milk. It is definitely more time consuming for me but a completely rewarding task since he is much happier being fed this way. I do not think he was getting enough from breast feeding with the shield. Now that we have been feeding him this way he is lasting the 2 1/2 to 3 hours in between feedings..which he was not able to before. I am a double Medala pump we ordered off of well.ca so that I can do both sides at the same time. The single electric is just not cutting it for time and efficiency when you have two kids. It will take me 10-20 minutes tops with the double where as right now it could be 10-20 per side.

Right now I have been trying tons of methods of upping my supply for O since he is a growing boy. When I started pumping I was only a pump ahead..not great. If I pumped since the start I would have been fine. I am pumping every 3-4 hours except at night when I only pump when we all get up. I say we due to Doug is feeding him while I pump and then we all go back to bed sooner. That may change when I get the double. I could just pump after he is back in bed. I made lactation cookies..which are made using brewers yeast, flax seed meal (ground flax seed), oatmeal and the regular oatmeal cookie ingredients. I went from being one bottle ahead to I have almost 4 1/2 feeds in the fridge...so 5oz pumped to 23oz. O gets roughly 35-40oz in 24hrs. I would say they work great...along side eating properly and drinking tons. I usually get 5-6 out a pump...around 9-10 so two feeds in the middle of night pump...which is awesome..I would like to get a weeks supply ahead frozen at the least..it would be golden!

He is now 22 inches long and head is 15.1 inches round. Apparently his height is low for average as well as his head size..I do not really focus on all that.

It is cute..he finally is a bit rolly and has a little Buddha belly. His head is a wee bit flat on the one side..I think we have been laying him down more one way..not on purpose..just sorta happened. It will not matter soon though due to he looks like shortly he will be rolling over..he sways his body back and forth so well. He is smiling and noticing more around him. We can put him in the swing now and he will actually notice the fish that move and light up.

I was really hoping that he would not lose his hair...but it is happening! But it is all good due to he has new hair growth coming in at the same time. You can always tell where they lay at the back of the head due to the bald spots. Funny how boy babies are so much like little old men.

I can really tell he is growing fast. I remember Miss E being in newborn and 0-3 clothing forever. O however is the opposite..all newborn has been pretty much put away a week or two ago..and he is out of newborn diapers as well. We have him in  Size 1 diapers however I feel with his buddha belly that sometimes its a stretch to get them done up. I am sure that will change again soon as he sprouts up and not outward. He is also in 0-3 which some fit and others do not. 3 month stuff are definitely being moved into the area of clothing being worn despite his shortness. See I always thought he was long..news to us that he is shorter.

Not sure what else to tell you. I will post new pics soon. If I get a chance you will get to hear all about the fun we are having with miss E after Monday. Xo

E's 20 month post and my 6 wk post apt

Today is a tired day in our house. Between O deciding it was awake time at 4:30 am after his feed..and when we fed him at 11pm not getting to bed until after 12am. Plus Miss E was crying on and off all night and woke up at 4am losing it. At first we thought we would try to get her back to sleep..clearly was not happening..plus she had pooped and puked in her bed..and then in ours when cuddling watching cartoons. We resorted to all being up since 4am..O played in the bouncy chair and then fell asleep while we all played laundry clean up crew and played toys in the living room with doses of Tylenol and much needed coffee...did I mention this was appointment day for me.

Miss E is 20 months old! Less than 4 months and she will be 2years old and of course it will be christmas. SANTA!!! SANTAAAAAASSSSS COMING!!! Lol sorry had to...love ELF!

These teeth that have been seems like coming in or just tricking us and being a pain are putting poor Miss E through it all. Right now we have a rash again...which I believe is linked to acid in tomatoes etc while she is teething. Pooping like crazy..which is usually a one a day thing for E but is now a couple and man does she stink! E even plugs her nose when she poops right now..we have been joking about how bad she stinks saying peeee you and holding our nose...so now randomly she says she stinks or sometimes us..haha. I know she is in pain due to her being so picky on eating as well. E is normally a great little eater and now she is being ever so picky. I feel lately it sometimes takes her a hour to eat things that would normally take her 20 mins max.

She is getting very tall. So tall we have to keep moving things like iPads, controls, phones and other things she thinks she should be using. Another reason why I can tell she is sprouting up is dresses I bought her are now shirts with shorts or tights until the end of summer. We are starting to say more words again..this week our favourite is Up!

We are very grown up with her brother wanted to help..other days we are jealous trying to put things on the breastfeeding pillow or climb on it herself. This week has been long since thy have been feeding off of each other.

My mind is running on fumes right now..so that is all you get on E today..

My 6 week post preggo apt:

This morning we dragged our tired behinds to the doctors for myself. It was a pretty fast apt considering when I had O I was lucky enough to not tare, rip or need a episiotomy. So no stitches or painful healing for this gal..just needing the baby growing organs to go back down in size and in place. I am excited to tell you I was 205lbs today! I know seems like a very large number..but when I went into have him I believe I was 232lb. Soooo 205 sounds great..I was 207 last week when I weighed myself so I am losing at a good pace and now I can work out again.

He asked us the usual..have you done the dirty yet? What do you plan on taking for contraception ? We have not and eventually was my answer...if we keep running on 4hrs of sleep that is not happening for anyone lol. I am kind of worried about taking the pill again. I have been on so many things and not sure what more I want in my body, how it will effect me etc. I also do not want it effecting my milk supply. So he is putting me back on the pill..Doug does not want 3 under 3 he says..so if you want to still maintain the relationship with your husband and not get pregnant in the near future...the pill it is. He said the one I am going on is a light dose and does not effect my breast milk...one pill a day (another thing to remember to take), less side effects and its progesterone based I believe. I did not have to be on anything while breastfeeding E..I did not cycle until about 50 days after I stopped pumping.

I am sad that we will not be seeing him regularly or his sweet receptionist. They are like family to us..and we would not have E or O without them. Now we are back to just seeing the regular family doctor.

Right now all are napping...which does not happen with E in the morning unless she is ill. Quiet time for this mama. Xo
