Evie is now 7 months old!!!!! Which means there is now 5 months till Christmas and her birthday....insane!
We now definitely have our own personality..she is growing like crazy. We have a little Mohawk going on in the hair department. We laugh and giggle, smile and talk gibberish none stop. We try to test mom and dads buttons a lot..especially while eating. She likes to forget to chew and swallow..more so now since she had what we think was roseola. She had the throwing up, fever, and ended it with a rash. So now that she had conquered that..we like to gag more often..which makes eating take a lot longer and more frustrating to do. Our newest thing is laughing at her puppy heaven...when I say laughing I mean down right hysterics!
We are eating lots of solids and we now have her going to bed around 8pm sleeping until almost 7am. Naps are good somedays and other days something to be desired..she still has not caught on that she still needs them. This week for example some days I was lucky that I got an hour or two in total in naps for the day..which means her last bottle before she goes down for the night may be a fight to get in. We have now fed her beef and chicken..she has had quite a bit of veggies and some fruits..I wanted to get mother meat in before we switch her to homo.
This past Friday I started to try to slowly start the process of switching her to homo. Now I do not want to hear any opinions on the subject. Quite frankly it is Doug's and I's choice/decision. I am no longer breastfeeding her..she is fighting me...I am pumping 3 times a day to bottle feed her...she is healthy and already took yogurt well and loves it. I am going to follow the 3 day rule..taking it slow and easy. 3 days where I will give her a quarter of her 5 ounce bottle being homo with the breastmilk..just for her morning bottle. Then I will do all of her bottles the same for 3 days..then switch it to half/half for 3 days and then switch to homo. No cold turkey switching happening here. So far it is going very well and little signs of it bothering her at all.
Our doctor doesn't want us to do it until she is 9 months or almost 9 months..I was going to at 8 1/2 months before..but this will see how she will do..while I am still pumping. Plus if Doug and myself would like to start trying again or see if we can get referred back to the specialist..which we will probably have to. In order for me to see if I will cycle on my own or get my period I need to stop breastfeeding. I have to go to a appointment when Evie goes for her 9 month app..to get referred to the specialist or see if anything has happened as of yet. I am a very special case..plus before this big adventure I was not getting anything at all without being on any drugs. this way it will only be abouta month sooner..I personally do not see the difference. I was switched at 6 months..hell Doug's mom had him on 2% and corn syrup at a couple weeks...if anything he should be dead according to our doctor lol. My little nephews are already switched and dong fine, I figure if anything it should have bothered there tummys and digestion and they are perfectly fine. The way Doug and I see it is we are the parents and it is our decision not the doctors.
We are beginning to sit up with only a little help and support. Jumping is a new favorite..she has always liked to but now it is something that happens alot around here whether it is in someone's arms or in her jumperoo or exer-saucer. We keep trying to do tummy time here and there..getting her to build her core strength and prepare her for exploring the house that we live in...a new world just out of her grasp..however we are save from baby proofing just yet due to she will only stay that way for 5 mins at a time if we are lucky..before crying, screaming or plain just freaking out. Most of the time she will just roll to her back due to that is where she prefers to be while playing with her toys or lying talking to the puppy.
We just came back from wishing my dad a happy birthday and nice visit with my nephews, brother and sister in law. They all love to play and laugh and giggle with each other....whether it is whispering baby talk quietly together or screeching really loud for all to see. They are all growing so fast and we are sure to have a very exciting birthday and christmas this year for sure.
I will be sure to post some pictures quite soon....new bumbo shot ect..much love to all..and we all hope you are having a great summer..I just hope yours is not flying by as fast as ours seems to be.
