13 weeks..Surprise!!

Hey y'all

You either have now caught on really quickly and are saying..."say what?" or are trying to figure out what the hell I am talking about.

Today is my big announcement day for you all. We are pregnant with Baby # 2. 13 weeks..or pretty darn close to being done my 1st trimester..the 3 months of me feeling very ill.

If you are like every other family member that we told around Christmas or a little before hand you are probably either thinking or saying the same thing. 1. How the hell did that happen? or 2. You got pregnant on your own. Mind my language..but my dad decided to say..you mean to tell me one of those dirty bastards got in there..LMAO. Now he is saying that because when you do an IUI..which it took 3 to get our daughter Evie..after 3 years of trying...when they do the IUI..they have to clean the sperm..they spin it before the procedure. So really it is very funny. Doug ( my husbands) running joke is that I cheated on him with another cup!! He thinks he is HILARIOUS!!!!

So here is the downlo..

We went back on Nov 1st to see the specialist..just for a chat on the steps we were going to take ect this time. My cycles were still out of whack since i stopped breastfeeding miss E. I stopped so I would start to cycle again to get things going. My last cycle..was Oct 29. So I was put back on Metformin..to build it up in my system again..which you already know if you are an avid blog follower of my blog. We were not due to come and see the specialist until Jan 7th in the new year.

Well..I had not been feeling very well..and had been on the 3 metformin for a couple of weeks and figured I should have gotten something soon that the last almost 38 day cycle. So I waited a week in a bit longer and thought..okay I am going to take a test and if not..I am still have issues with my body..hence we are going to see the specialist.

So on the same day...I will never forget due to it was the same day all the public eye was all over Kate being in the hospital for morning sickness in London. Doug brought home a two pack of tests and had quite an interesting time at shoppers buying them. The guy at the checkout asked him if he was sure and if it was that kind of night. Doug was getting quite a chuckle out of it. He asked for a optimum points card and Doug said " Am I not getting enough brownie points for buying this"..the guy continue to tell Doug that if I brought the receipt back in with the card we could get the points LOL.

I waited a bit to take the test..while we were cooking dinner I figured here goes nothing. Well let me tell you it was the fastest damn positive that has ever showed up on one of those in my life. You know how they always tell you to wait the time..well mine maybe took 3 seconds for both lines to show up! I told Doug " There are two lines". He told me to wait the time..I told him..if they are already both there..it is not going to change the result. So we called and got a request for bloodwork..and knew within that week.

We had an appointment on Dec 23..considering everything that has happened..miscarriage before Miss E..and what all it took to get her into this world..he wanted to make sure everything was looking good..plus since we were not supposed to go see him until January I had not had my Ovaries or anything looked at for PCOS symptoms still. Well it had a heartbeat at 140 beats already at that point. We asked the doctor if we surprised him and asked if we surprised ourselves. Considering everyone thought it was a slim chance it could not happen at all each time without help..this is huge!

This past week we had an appointment January 23. I was 12 weeks 3 days..working on finishing my 13th week. Everything looks really good. Despite how sick I have been. Good size and developing well. I say sick..due to last pregnancy I had nausea but not like this. I am lucky if I can eat much..if anything at all and when I do..it might have a fighting chance of staying with me. If it is in the morning probably not. I am thinking I have lost like 12-15lbs. I weighed myself that night..not asking them how bad it was at the doctors..and it was a considerable amount down.

This pregancy is very different..not only am I sick and nautious I am very tired. I am falling asleep on the couch...and already have insominea. lol and no I am not complaining..just telling you how we are doing. I think it may have to be with how heavy Evie is..and busy lately..much Fun. The doctor asked me if I wanted something for the Nausea and I said I thought I was ok but if it does not go away or gets worse then I would let him know.

So far my estimated Due date is AUG 5th, 2013. Doug is saying July 19...he was wrong with Miss E..so we will see. I want to find out the sex this time..I think I might have Doug convinced...or he is just agreeing so I will stop pestering him about it. So here we are..we did it all on our own!!! GO US!!!

Evie has been saying the word Baby..it is repeated from us using it with her baby dolls and talking about how their is a baby in mommys tummy..being gentle ect. She however says Be Be..it is super cute. Even if the baby comes early..Miss E and the new baby will be 19-20 months apart.

I will be sure to post some pics..I have some cute picture ideas..for Miss E and I. We also go back to the photographer again when we book it before the end of April. I also have a early..not great quality ultrasound picture..from my 12 week apt.

Much love..Doug, Cassie, Evie and Baby B # 2.

13 months

Today my baby girl is 13 months old..or a 1year and 1 month..which ever way you decide to count or look at it.

We have had a busy month...and a cold one at that. I have some photos to post for you all. We are growing like a bad weed. Starting to say more things and are randomely just standing more and more.

Doug and I are just waiting to see when she takes the plunge and just starts to walk somewhere. Right now it is just fear holding her back. I do not have any set timeline for her like some mothers..I just know that if she tried she would do it. The amount of leg strength she has is incredible. E will just crouch midair half sitting/standing and play like there is nothing to it. We use our walking toys as aids...to plow through other objects or people..(which we think is hilarious..especially if you say ouch)..or pushes it sideways to get where she wants while walking..did i mention with one finger touching it. In fact the other day she took a step towards me with a little encouragement  and no helping hands. Just one step and hen she realized what she was doing and sat down. We are not far though .. Sometimes we stand for 3 minutes straight in the middle of the floor randomly.

We are definitely a toddler now. Braver than you would believe in the most unsafe situations. One of Evie's favorite things is to be upside down. I want you to think of a Ostrich when they put their heads in the sand..bum in the air..well we do that on a regular basis..sometimes 5 times in a 10 minute span.

I am amazed everyday how smart she is. Always using trial and error to see how things work..or simply   investigating every which way to use something. Peek a boo..and hide and seek are a big hit lately.. You can not pass object permanence past this child...she will call you out. We are putting our giant legos together and slowly figuring out where to put the shapes in the shape ball.

We are also a very huggy..loving little girl lately..we come up just for cuddles or a hug to my foot..we hug all of our toys...and even pause for a minute here and there to lay our head on the floor and take in  the world.

We are eating finger foods atleast once a day now..usually breakfast...sometimes more. We are a pro at toast, waffles, pancakes, small pieces of fruit and some veggies. E can even drink out of a sippy cup with assistance from myself.. otherwise it is still seen as a toy thrown on the floor or spitting out the water. We are usually down to one big nap a day which does wonders for me getting some me time or somethings accomplished.

As of now I am really not sure what else to write at the moment.. So I will be posting some pics to follow asap. Happy weekend!

1 Year Doctor Apt

Today we went to the doctors with Evie for her 1 year doctors apt. She is getting to be such a big girl. Growing so fast..becoming a toddler more and more everyday.

She was in the 56% for her Weight. I believe it was 21lbs almost 22lb. She is in the 73% percent for head circumference..no thanks to dear Daddy lmao. She is in the 36% for height..but that all comes in time. Evie was very brave today..they however do not normally have 2 ppl to give the needles at the same time when we go..we asked and they had an extra body to help today. She was given the first 2 in the arms..while Doug helped hold her. The other was done in her leg, the one that burns. Doug thought he had her and when the needle went in..Evie being so strong and all..pulled her hand free and tryed to take the needle out of her leg. The nurse could not believe how strong she was. My little fighter!!

Over all the doctor was very happy and said we could start giving her more solids at snack times and cut back on the milk. We will be switching her to regular homo..not the $8 bags we have been buying with all the added omega and vitamin D. She was very impressed with how well she was when checking Evie out. Overall a really good doctor visit. The next time we go back she will be getting her Chicken Pox needle at 15 months..and then a check up at 18months.

I will still try to update you all before then. XO

Evie turns 1!!

A whole year in the blink of an eye. Our world has changed so much since Christmas 2011.

I have a 1year old! Just saying those words in my mind is crazy. I have a toddler to be exact. Bruisers galore and bumps to show from how we learn each day exploring to grow.

Evie is now zooming around the house everywhere looking for trouble to explore. You always know where Evie is unless she is quiet. The sound of giggling is heard throughout the house or songs of the few words we know so far. We are trying to free stand, we will when we don't notice we are doing it. If we do notice we get scared and sit down right away. Daddy has helped her walk holding on to one toy or his hands just underneath hers walking in front, but still too scared. Doug thought she would be walking for sure before her first birthday, close but not quite. We have a little hurtle of fear to get over..but when she gets over that world watch out!!!

We have now had scrambled eggs, toast, pancakes and hash browns and our first and second try of cake. We love to bite off crackers and share mom and day's supper after she has already eaten hers earlier. Food always tastes better when it came from mom  or dad's plate!

The dog and Evie continue to be at a battle of wills. Evie has invaded the floor space that used to be safe. The toys are always mixed in together..some days we play with each others toys. We have to watch them both carefully right now, Evie wants to pet heaven and heaven only wants to run away or growl. The dog is still very protective of Evie but jealous at the same time.

We are working on more teeth which makes for more interesting sleep patterns. Our hair is getting very long and we are growing like a bad weed. If you come over to our house make sure your pants are on tight she may use you to pull herself up to stand. We like to clap a lot now and say "yeah"which is really cute to watch. Dancing is also one of our favourite things to do. As long as there is music around we are in good company and moods.

Christmas was fun..super busy. We split ours up into two separate times. A little more driving but more quality family time well spent. We just had her birthday party yesterday. Nice and small...a little nibbles, cupcakes and some family. Evie is a lot like daddy in the sense she gets quiet in big crowds. We have lots of fun noisy toys..I see a lot of switching back and forth of the toys happening. Watching Evie take her little people and put them in the fridge opt oven of her laugh and learn kitchen is quite hilarious.

We go back to see the doctor for our 1 year shots/checkup on January 7th. It is kinda a little hard to do it closer as all the offices are closed at Christmas time. Doug has been on holidays so we have had a lot of nice family time together. It will be difficult I think for Evie when he leaves on Wednesday to go back to work again.

After I get all the pictures loaded I will be sure to post some new ones.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Brant Family! XO

11 months and 1 month to go!

Posting a little bit later than I had planned on..We all have this nasty cold that is going around. Miss E has been hit with it especially hard. She could hardly breathe, bad cough, all congested and coughing horribly. Had to go and buy a vicks humidifer for her room and some cold meds ect.

11 months have come and are going fast. Faster than I have expected..we have lots of new news to tell you. Evie is all over the house and into everything...from standing and reaching things we shouldn't to rolling balls back and forth with the dog or us. We have hands like suction cups and magnifying eyes. Nothing is safe or clean enough in the house anymore..despite how clean you thought it looked before.

Doug had the pleasure of showing Evie she can pull her self up on the coffee table..nothing is safe on there now...unless it was already hers in the first place. We are up and down all the time..and braver by the second. We are even starting to take little steps and going to you if right near the table..falling into your arms. We walk sometimes with one of our walkers. The table is a great aid in letting her walk across part of the room sideways before gently sitting herself back down hanging onto things on the way down making sure not to land hard on her poor little bum. We have had to buy some smelly 40% bum cream due to diaper rash from teething...did I mention teeth are not very nice at all.

We will wave now....only when we feel like it. Clapping is something new we started this week. Sorry let me put it this way..we have always tried to clap...but now we are truly clapping with sound and flat hands. Our love of music grows more and more each day...which I am very happy about. Doug is simply amazed by her love of it. Does not matter what type..if she hears it she stops and claps and dances...whether she is crawling, standing, sitting, eating ect. In the morning we like to get up and sing.

Walking is probably going to full on before her first birthday. We are eating mashed food..well were until this cold..we are having trouble eating right now since we can only breathe through our mouth.

One of the new things we do is give people serious stare down looks..where she creases her eyebrows and glares her eyes. Sometimes instead of saying something to her doug and myself just give her a look..now she does it to strangers when we are out..or back at us when she knows she is doing something wrong and we are trying to tell her to stop. It is quite a funny site to see.

On other news I am excited to announce last weekend I gave my two weeks notice that on the 8th of December when my Mat leave is done..I will not be returning back to work. We have decided that I am going to stay home and look after our family..and continue on the path to more little miracles.

We go back to see the specialist on Jan 3rd. Right now I had to do more blood work and an internal exam the next time I go to see the doctor just to see what has been going on down there. I have not had one in a while.  I am just building up the metformin back in my system at the time. When we went to see the specialist the app was surprisingly not a long wait or long app. He was really glad to see Mrs. E. We are skipping the clomide thank goodness..and going straight to the Femara which is the fertility drug that worked with the 3rd IUI the first time I switched to it..that is the drug we got pregnant with Evie.  We are not sure whether we are just going to be put on it alone..or going straight to the IUI's .  Either way..we are super excited...Evie will be already one and we love our family so much.

I will be sure to post some photos soon. We had recently got some family photos taken by a family photographer two weeks ago and we get the link soon to check it out. I am very excited..it is the first time we have had it done professionally since Doug and I got married.

Much love..
